The Chiang Mai Night Market has been a fixture in Chaing Mai for many years. I have seen it grow through my visits to the city which has also grown tremendously. The market has gone from a few stalls in a few streets to a sprawling market taking over a large portion of the city, close to the river. The sidewalk/pavement is hard to walk along with all the stalls jammed in, and the shops behind the stalls now include Starbucks, multiple 7-11's, pizza restaurants and Swensen's ice cream. Soap carving is the latest craze and you also see lots of hill tribe crafts, fake watches, and a Thai dancing show.
