Grand Palace..and I mean grand!

The Grand Palace is so huge that it can be seen long before you arrive. The tall golden stupas and the roofs of the temples and palace tower over the surrounding trees and buildings. Even in the heat it was packed with giddy tourists snapping every shot that they could. The detail is incredible and the grandeur is overwhelming. We stopped into the temple of the Emerald Buddha which is actually cut from a single piece of jade and sits atop a mountain of buddha statues. It is really hard to do this justice in words, but as soon as we are able to get some photos uploaded, it may help a little to show how splendid it really is.
